Hi all,

Just as soon as I work up the courage to reboot, I will be attempting
to implement systemd.

This is ugly. Really ugly. The way I was taught, you're only supposed
to test one change at a time, but I'm having to test a multitude of
changes made all at once, including getting my Linode to use a
distribution kernel (systemd replaces init, and Linode's manager
offers limited options to for the init option on its own kernels, but
pv-grup will use a menu.1st file which allows lots of options).

If I've figured this out correctly, all will go well. But I'm guessing
that would be really lucky. And I'm not usually that fortunate.

All I can say is that it is better, from my standpoint, to do this now
than during the school year.

I haven't quite decided when to begin this test; an unexpected system
crash might provoke the test sooner than I intend. I've been working
on this since yesterday and had to get up early to deal with a sick
(actually injured, as it turns out) cat.

I will reply to this posting with an additional note just before I
begin the test.
