I'm not sure it is related, but libidn fails on non-linux targets:

http://hydra.nixos.org/jobset/gnu/libidn-master

Looking at the log tail's, the reasons appears to be varied (libattr
doesn't build, cracklib doesn't build, libxcrypt doesn't build, gettext
doesn't build, libusb doesn't build, perl-LocaleGettext doesn't build,
etc) which seems odd given that some other packages (libtasn1, gsasl)
builds fine on the same platform.  What's up?
