Unfortunately I am not talking about a single file here, but a whole module
containing a couple of hundred files. Ideally a single command I can run in
in a foreach loop, will be ideal, I cannot simply pass the files to sed.

Cheers, Marcus.

Try to confirmation on this but I believe you can edit the version in
the object's ,v file. I am sure I have done this before but it is ages
ago.

Subject: RCS question ...

If you have accidentally checked in a revision with the incorrect
number, is it possible to renumber the internal revision number in the
RCS files.

          2.23------
           | |
           | |
2.24 23.1 (should have been 2.23.1.1) <- need to renumber
           |
           |
          2.25
           |
           |
should be 2.26 but RCS complains the number must be bigger than 23.1
