I wrote earlier:
M-F toggles multibuffer off/on just for this invocation of ^R.


Prasad responded:
nano 7.1 (which I use) shows a message "No formatter is defined for
this type of file" when I type M-F

The function of keys depends on which menu you are in.
As I said, M-F toggles "multibuffer" in the _^R menu_.

Also: if you don't know what to do in a menu, type ^G.
