Hello and All The Best for 2024 Bernd & Anton!
I'm embarrassed that I can't debug this myself, but there appears to be
a syntax error in Makefile.wayland.
Regardless of which of my 64bit or 32-bit linux systems I've tried
building either gforth-0.7.9_20231221 or gforth-master,
I get this exact error, on every machine.

Compiled on first attempt

I'm using Bash everywhere; not any other shell, and there's only a few
suggestions to
wayland-scanner --help. The no info or man page for it.
