Thanks a lot, m°! Finally, I got 1.3.4 running! Probably because I did
not delete the old tree. 

Now, I just have to try figuring out how to write some python plugins to
make gnome-commander work for me. I'm quite familiar with python. Any
suggestions where I can start?
