[ft] Re French accents & Freetype2 :)

Hello again everyone :)

Well, sorry for annoying you, but I still got this issue :

when using ft2, trying to display some text in iso 8859-1 encoding, the
French accents don't get displayed - I get empty boxes instead.

(I tried different versions of tahoma.ttf)

I tried to select a different charmap, but it seems I have no other
choice than choosing the "Unicode" charmap. 

I had the feeling that, by default, if some not-unicode text was
supplied, it would consider it's in iso 8859-1 (latin1) encoding, but
apparently not...

I guess I'm missing something important ;)
