[ft] French accents & Freetype2 :)

Hi everyone !

The question I'm gonna ask must be completely stupid but...

Well, I made simple tests with the freetype2 library (I basically
followed the tutorial). 

The problem is I can't get the French accents displayed - they are
replaced by an emtpy square. (accents like é è à ê etc). I tried with
several versions of the Tahoma.ttf font that ought to have all those
special characters.

Does any of you have an idea what I'm doing wrong ? :)
