[Freefont-bugs] weight of freemono

Since GNOME 2 got subpixel rendering and I installed it on my laptop,
I've found that FreeMono is too spindly to display properly.  I guess
I'm really looking for a demibold version, or at least somewhat heavier
than the current one.

I still use FreeMono on my CRT monitor and, although a little faint, it
looks pretty good.

Is there anything I can do to help the situation, or am I just stuck?
