Python sounds good.

You might consider qtPython.  QT Designer is nice.

Thanks for listing the components for contribution.  This helps a lot.

  As of today, I am no longer employed  by Lionbridge (...Dutch work permit
expired), which is a good thing for spending more time on OSS projects.

However, I'm also taking the opportunity to travel.  Leaving to Rome in a
few hrs, and will remain on the road for at least 5 months or so!  So my
presence and contribution will be small or non-existent for a while.

Still, I'm happy to see the ball rolling and look forward to catching up
later.  Keep up the good work!
