I don't think pnet's hello.exe (ie pnet/samples/) might always work ...

And go back till it works ... :-(

Also it would be a good idea to get it running inside gdb and 
getting a stacktrace on the bus error ... and building it from
"make distclean" using ./configure --threads=none and/or
./configure --disable-libgc might be options to be pursued.

I'll try to get an OS X ssh account somewhere and try a few
tricks myself...

We really need a tinderbox to catch these in time ....
