This is a problem I fixed in a ports I sent to the FreeBSD ports cvs, but 
they, of course ignored the work.  So you'll have to do the fix manually.
The problem is a misnamed version of the Xcursor library in the Xlibs.

so...

ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libXcursor.so.1 /usr/X11R6/lib/libXcursor.so.1.0

that should solve the problem.

Good luck, we need some good debugging done on freebsd =)
