Speaking of Open Source based business plans:

I have always felt that the economic power of FS/Open
Source development was not in producing revenues, but
in producing savings ( and , of course producing and
preserving freedoms. But right now, that is a very
hard thing to inform people of). It is basically a
customer side things, NOT a vendor side thing. If
that's true, then perhaps a business model should be
based on a percentage of the customers savings, not a
percentage of the customers spending.
