Y'all can try 'M-x project-find-regexp' or 'M-x project-search' in the 
meantime, depending on the personal preference for the UI.

Indeed. So I don't think expecting a user who upgrades to a new major 
version (and even skipped over one) to have to adapt to one or two new 
key bindings is all that inconsiderate.
