Sorry for the lag but I've been in meetings all day almost all week.

Axiom has code for openmath which uses a library (OMC) which is in
the zips subdirectory. Except for cataloging the library there has
been no effort to reconnect the library code to Axiom. It is, however,
in plan. 

So, in answer to your question, while Axiom knows how to "speak openmath"
it is currently untested.
