[Tof-general] Use of MySQL with TOF

I know others have asked before if MySQL has can be used in place of
PostgreSQL, but has anybody already made the changes to base.sql and to the
getSequenceNextValue() call?

Most calls are fairly SQL generic, but is anyone using TOF with MySQL yet?
Has anyone tested the use of MySQL? If so please send / post the updates. I
am starting to play with the conversion but do not want to reinvent the
wheel if somebody is in the process or has already achieved this.

It may be easy to have both databases supported with some basic code
modification.
