That's great news. A couple of problems though:

When untarring it it puts files in current directory and not in
its own directory!

It would be better just to have it named ranger-1.1.0.tar.gz and create
directory named ranger-1.1.0 when unzipped. The extra -e7blabla on the
end will create a small headache for package maintainers like myself
who are used to having something of the form PROGNAME-n.n.n for a
directory.

I fixed both of those problems, here's a link for the archive:

Link gives a 404


You probably know this already but I'll post it anyway - The relevant
files for a ranger distribution package are:

ranger.py - executable, put somewhere in $PATH
The ranger directory - somewhere in pythons import path
doc/ranger.1 - the man page

The rest is just documentation and development tools.
