Subject: [Linphone-users]Linphone to Winphone!!

| Hi all,
| Well I am planning to port linphone onto windows 2000 and then onto an
| embedded platform(say eCos maybe).
|
| I am novice at linux and I am not quite sure where to start.
| some basic Qs:
| 1.what are the linux specific APIs used by linphone(any system calls if so
| where do I look out).any other libraries i need to look out for.

We rely heavily on the linux mulitmedia arch(oss, alsa etc). we use codecs
(speex, xine etc) which also must be ported to windows. The first thing
would be to port the mediastreamer code to windows.

| 2.I notices some WIN32 macro based conditional compilation in oRTP code.
| If it was written for linphone how is this so? how can I exploit it?Can
| exploit this elsewhere?

yes, oRTP is being ported to windows. its still in the works.

you could access the latest code from savannah.gnu.org/projects/linphone.

/Sharath

| 3.which are the header files which are automatically generated when I
| type./configure for linphone...how do I write similar headers for Windows?
| 4.Has anybody tried this as yet?Who?
|
| I need the developers(Simon buddy) to think about it from the point of
view
| of a port and tell me if there is anything they feel I should know.
|
|
|
| I understand the Qs might be basic I guess that just makes them easier to
| answer :)
| Thanks and regards,
| gaurav
