I get this. How do I set-up the password (and the associated account)? BTW, I found the wiki article very confusing. It did not help with the installation.

I have Octave 4.03 running on my Mac under OS 10.12.2. I now want to install and run Octave 4.2. How do I do that?

Thanks.

You may want to look at http://wiki.octave.org/Octave_for_MacOS_X.

The best options are typically the macOS package managers: homebrew,
macports or fink. If you chose hombrew: download it from http://brew.sh.
Afterwards open Terminal.app and type: "brew tap homebrew/science; brew
install octave". That should do it.

Bye
Sebastian

I can't figure out how to clear the file browser history. The file browser
window is located at the top lef side and keeps history of all the
directories you have been browsing.  Any ideas please?

Hi,

Remember that we are always interested in knowing what publications
cite GNU Octave or provide source code to reproduce the results.

http://wiki.octave.org/Publications_using_Octave

2016 is gone, it would be great if you could add your new publications
to the list (there is also a pre-print section).

We are interested in the publication, this is not a place to gain
credit or fame, we do not need the authors list. The important info is
the title of the publication, the journal and links to the pdf
(hopefully not behind paywall)

and a function in the interpreter

https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/doc/interpreter/Citing-Octave-in-Publications.html

Also, we are organizing OctConf 2017 at CERN, this is an ideal place
to present your work. Register now!

http://wiki.octave.org/OctConf_2017

You can also present your results in the poster session.

Thanks!

Subject: Usage of Structures via the Octave C++ API
Message-ID: <address@hidden>

Dear all,

I'm trying to make use of Octave scripts in C++ programs by following
the receipt in the appendix ("Standalone Programs") of the Octave manual.

Especially I want to use structures as input/output arguments of Octave
functions. The doxygen pages for GNU Octave  4.1.0+ about the
"Octave_value Class Reference" do not tell me anything... (maybe this
has not been implemented (yet)).

Can somebody please enlight me whether this is possible (and how), or not?

Thank you!

Cheers,
       Wolfgang
