OCTAVE for MacOSX: dmg of Octave 3.8.0 and Octave 3.8.2

There are “complementary” problems in dmg of versions 3.8.0 and 3.8.2. The 
first one does not write some symbols, like ], @, and others, and the plot 
command works. In version 3.8.2 no problem  with  symbols, but plot command 
fails. There is a message:

>> Qt terminal communication error: select() error 9 Bad file descriptor

Any idea to fix this?
