Hi Ben,

All functions that receive a first string argument can be used without
parenthesis, e.g.

help linspace

source myfunc.m

cd "/home/me"

These functions do have a standard signature as well, that is you can call them
x = "linspace"
help(x)
x = "myfunc.m"
source(x)

etc.
