Got it working on the intel laptop with OS 10.4.10. There was a space that I shouldn't have had in ARmake.inc. Also, I noticed this thread: http://www.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/help-octave/2007-November/006539.html that indicates I should remove old binaries. All looks well as far as the that Mac goes.
