Octave.app 2.9.17 sound help

I have been upgrading my Octave.app on my ppc mac as they come out.
Somewhere along the line the sound command stopped working for me. I  
installed the audio-1.0.2 package.
It looks like i don't have the "play" command configured on my mac.  
How is it supposed to work on a mac?
Any help would be appreciated.

octave-2.9.17:6> sound(x,fs);
sh: line 1: play: command not found
warning: broken pipe -- some output may be lost
