odessa compilation

Hi octave users

I was trying to use the odessa command in octave. I know that the
command has now been removed, but I found the FORTRAN package Odessa
on the internet. I have absolutely no experience in FORTRAN, so can
anyone explain to me the how to compile the package so that odessa
command is functional in octave (version 2.9.9). I am not even sure
this is doable...
