Not pre-packaged by itself, at least not for Debian. Debian seems to
have frozen 2.9.9 for the etch release, and 2.9.10 is in unstable, but
they refer to the same package. That is, Debian isn't going to be
maintaining three Octave branches now (2.1.*, 2.9.9 and 2.9.10), it
looks like 2.9.10 is going to replace 2.9.9 after etch release.

If you use other apt-based distros, it's likely a similar effect wil
be visible in them. I don't know what the rest of the GNU/Linux world
is doing.

Of course, you can always install two versions side-by-side by
compiling from source yourself and giving the right --prefix parameter
to the configure script. But why? I'm with jwe on this one. 2.9.10 is
the future! Purge the deprecated code! Onward ho!
