Hi Søren,

Did you load the package? Did you see something like "Initialize Yapso"?

octave:1> pkg load all
Initialize Yapso
octave:2>

When yapso is added to your path, PKG_ADD creates "surf" as an alias for 
"ysurf" and "ysurf" is
loaded from yfunction with autoload.

$ fgrep surf PKG_ADD
dispatch ('surf','ysurf','any');
autoload ('ysurf', which ('yfunction'));

All functions are indeed defined in yfunction.oct. Can you send me the output 
of:

which yfunction
dispatch('surf')
