You are right, I missed HDF5. However, the original problem remains. Regarding 
the Include directories: UMFPACK and CHOLMOD have subdirectories Include and 
Lib, so I linked to them explicitely. The Include directories contain all the 
header files.
I attached my config.log file because I really don't know what else to do. 
Maybe you guys see the obvious and help me out! Thanks, Jan
