Hi
I am trying to install octave-forge under slack-10.1/octave-2.9.4 and was occuring the following error

checking for mkoctfile... mkoctfile

conftest.cc:3:29: octave/defaults.h: No such file or directory

conftest.cc:29: error: parse error before string constant
conftest.cc:30: error: parse error before string constant
conftest.cc:31: error: parse error before string constant
configure: error: Could not run mkoctfile

There is no version.h and defaults.h under 2.9.4.

This bug was found shortly after 2.9.4 was released. It's fixed in CVS. The patch to 2.9.4 that fixes it can be found at http://www.octave.org/mailing-lists/octave-maintainers/2005/950 .
