Bug in octave texinfo?

There's a bug, I think, in the texinfo for octave. I'm running
version 2.1.40 of octave, and I've tried this with the same results
using pinfo versions 0.6.6-4 and 0.6.8.

If I do "pinfo pinfo" for example, then press S and key in the word
directory before pressing Enter, it will show me the first occurrence,
and if I then repeatedly press f, it shows me each subsequent
occurrence, until eventually it shows "Search string not found"
in the message area at the bottom of the screen.

But if I repeat the same procedure after doing "pinfo octave", repeated
f's eventually get me to the "Command Line Editing" screen, with no
occurrence of the string "directory" showing. If I press f again it
highlights the link "Cursor Motion." Pressing f again doesn't change
the appearance of the screen, but each press must push an element on
a stack because pressing f N times at this point means I must press
the left arrow N times to move off the "Command Line Editing" screen.
