David,
I would strongly urge you to update to a much more recent version of
octave for two reasons: (i) I do not think that you will get much
support, even for 2.1.33; and (ii) I found no obvious leaks with 2.1.56,
although I was checking on a rather coarse scale.

I have a memory leak problem in all the following versions of

The program I am using is pretty simple, and I can't
see any error on my part.
Well, if it is pretty simple, perhaps it would be a good idea to let us
see it.
Can anyone suggest how best to find out what is
causing the memory leak?
Does octave have a command that returns a list
of chunks of memory being used by octave?
What makes you think that you have a memory leak, if you are not
monitoring the allocation in some way?
thanks
David
ps - I am trying to make a stripped down toy example
that illustrates the problem.
That would be a good idea. However, load up a more recent octave first
and see if you still have the problem.
