Error running octave-2.1.57 on Cygwin

I compiled succesfully octave-2.1.57 following the octave-forge's
installation guide (w/ stdc++.dll). When I try to run octave I get
an error dialog box saying:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click
on OK to terminate the application.

What could be the problem?
