Sorry for following up to myself. Some clarification.

Technically, one can define type of the line in X11 terminal using .Xresources.
But by default all the lines in X11 terminal are solid. Also, setting a custom
line
for X11 would have no effect on the postscript (or any other hardcopy)
terminal.
