function.m vs octave program/script

Hello,
I have a octave program/script that I can invoke as
$octave -q myscript 12 100
Is there a way to invoke this script within octave ?
I know I can write the script as a function, and then
I could have the script version, and the function
version, but I'd like to have a single file.
