Hi,
Seems like you used fink to install octave, was it a binary or compile
from source install?
Could you enable crash logs and provide the output? (Open
/Applications/Utilities/Console and select Enable crash reporting in
the preferences, then do "roots([1 2 3])" in octave.)
If it is enabled already, then you'll have the log in
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/octave.crash.log, the entry at the very
bottom of the file.
FWIW, I have no problem here (G4MP, 10.2.4)
