Axes on images

Hello,

Sorry for this newbie question.
What function can I use under octave 2.1.39 to obtain x & y axes on an image ?
All the functions related to imagemagick cannot handle this useful feature.
Or perhaps, gnuplot can draw something on images ? But how ?
