This ought to be a FAQ somewhere because it pops up so much.
If you are looking at a plot you like and you want to save it to a file
named "myplot" then do the following
gset terminal png
gset output "myplot.png"
replot
This will produce a png file. Check out the "set terminal" command in
gnuplot to see all the possible output formats.
