Neural nets: I don't think there's a formal toolbox for Octave yet.  Some
(preliminary) multi-layer perceptron .oct and .m files are available at
ftp://ftp.eng.auburn.edu/pub/hodel/6240/elec6240_mfiles, along with my
lecture notes in the parent directory.
