Hello;

I want to get octave running on my new sgi 230, but it dumps core whenever
I attempt to run it.

Here is a bit of history:
address@hidden rpms]# rpm -i octave-2.0.13.90-1.i386.rpm
address@hidden rpms]#
No problems here...

address@hidden Šþ]$ octave
Octave, version 2.0.13.90 (i386-redhat-linux-gnu).
Copyright (C) 1996, 1997, 1998 John W. Eaton.

For details, type `warranty'.

error: Segmentation fault -- stopping myself...
error: attempted clean up apparently failed -- aborting...
Abort (core dumped)
address@hidden Šþ]$
But it sure doesn't like my machine here!

Any suggestions about diagnosing the problem?

Here is some information about my machine:

http://www.che.wisc.edu/octave/archive.html acrhive for the past two
years for the word "core" with no luck.
