Installing the Octave 2.0.14 patch...

Im trying to upgrade Octave 2.0.13 to 2.0.14... and i downloaded the patch,
and put the script file in the directory..

/octave

but when i try to run it this is what happens...

$./octave-2.0.13-2.0.14.patch
***********************************************************
You must run this script in the top-level octave directory!
***********************************************************

i could have sworn that /octave was the top level directory, but im a winNT
user, so i could be wrong. anythoughs on how to get it to work ?
