More: Changing the legend

Hi,

one more for changing the legend. I know how to move the legend 
"gset key <x>,<y>"
and change it when I invoke the plot. 
But how can I change it from "line 1" to "parabolic" once it is drawn?

Can I get a feedback of the position of my mouse on the gnuplot window?
E.G. I pick somewhere on the plot an octave tells me which position this
was.
