I have (finally!) converted the help-octave mailing list to use
Majordomo to handle requests. The information appended below will
be sent automatically to new subscribers . Comments and suggestions
for improving this message are welcome.

Thanks,

The help-octave mailing list is available for questions related to
using, installing, and porting Octave that are not adequately answered
by the Octave manual or the FAQ (see below for where to find the FAQ).

This list is not moderated. Every message that is sent to the list
will be passed on to every member of the list (with a few small
exceptions).

This mailing list is managed by a utility called Majordomo. You can
subscribe to the list by sending a message like:

  subscribe help-octave

to address@hidden

Likewise, if you want to remove yourself from the list, send the message:

  unsubscribe help-octave

to the same address.

For a complete list of Majordomo commands, use the command:

  help

Please do not send requests to be added or removed from the the
mailing list, or other administrative trivia to the list itself.

Messages sent to the help-octave mailing list are available via
anonymous ftp and the WWW at the following URLs:

  http://www.che.wisc.edu/octave.html
  ftp://ftp.che.wisc.edu/pub/octave/MAILING-LISTS

The draft FAQ for Octave is also available via the Octave home page.

If you have trouble accessing these files or using the mailing list
manager, please contact me directly.

Thanks,
