[help-GIFT] perl dependencies and 0.1.8 and Cygwin :) |

Hi,
I downloaded all the cygwin packages and installed
everything except the Xfree stuff.
I've got further than before, specially with the Perl
modules. These are all the modules I had to install:
Digest-MD5-2.24.tar.gz
HTML-Parser-3.27.tar.gz
HTML-Tagset-3.03.tar.gz
MIME-Base64-2.18.tar.gz
URI-1.23.tar.gz
XML-Parser-2.31.tar.gz
XML-Writer-0.4.tar.gz
libnet-1.13.tar.gz
libwww-perl-5.69.tar.gz
I downloaded a windows version of expat.
expat_win32bin_1_95_6.exe
and installed it, but I don't think it has anything to
contribute. I tried to compile the latest version of
the source code, but like always, it didn't pass the
make step :?
XML-Parser gave some warnings, but all the tests
passed. and the installation was succesful.
libwww failed on some tests:
robot/ua-get
robot/ua
robot/http-get
But I installed it anyways. I sent an email to the
guys that deal with libwww to see what they think
about that.
I get to the point where the .configure asks me if I
want to do a manual configuration. Last time I said
yes... and I eventually got stuck trying to give it a
CPAN url for something. It just kept asking and I
really don't know what it is expecting.
Then I tried saying no, but I got errors of these
form:
Going to read /home/var1231/.cpan/Metadata

What are those errors? Does that mean the perl
installation is still wrong?
After the configure progam exits, I type make
but I still get the same errors :?

And now back to square one :)
