Hi,

Just a quick note. Your points are valid, but not really surprising. The
papers on the Viper system on which GIFT is based make it clear that there
are no shape features or object  relationships used in the current version
(all available from the Viper website). IMHO, GIFT is intended more as a
framework to which people can add such functionality, rather than a
complete solution. Perhaps that should be made more clear at the download
site.

That being said, there are people working on adding segment and annotation
handling facilities to the GIFT framework at present.
