Hi,

I think that maybe this is the same problem that I found earlier this
year. You need libperl-dev, or perl-embeded. Please have a look at
help-gift archive, it should be described somewhere in Jan 2002.

0.1.8 doesn't have this problem because Wolfgang solved it already.
