This is excellent news and exactly what I hoped for.

Sounds good.  There shouldn't be much involved in validating the quality
of the build (due to this change alone, that is); the
doc/groff.{txt,info*,html} artifacts should come from distribution
archive and any problems they have should be identifiable at the time
"make dist" is run.
