I would appreciate some info as soon as possible.

For non-Linux systems..

1. Can you build the latest snapshot and model libraries?

2. Does it start and exit properly, without the "incorrect link
order" message?

3. Can you "attach" and use a Spice model plug-in?

If there is a problem, I want to take care of it now before
moving deeper into the commitment to plugins.

I can think of a few systems that need a check ....

*BSD. (I don't expect a problem.)

Solaris, gcc. (I don't expect a problem.)

Solaris, Sun compiler. (had trouble in past. How is it now?)

Mac. (likely linker problem.)

MS - mingw. (build with ./configure.old; make mingw. It
builds, but does it work??. What about the plugins?)

MS - cygwin. (Worked before, but that was without plugins.
Does it work now?)

MS - other. (hasn't been tested in a long time.)
