HIYA

I have installed fom live disk with monitor on bench
then i plugin the monitor that willbe used with the computer
this is what i see

# = screen number as seen on monitor

#1 bios screen   see it ok
#2 grub screen   see it ok
#3 the screen with gnewsense logo and boot progress bar    "cannot display video mode" or on yet a different monitor "out of frequency"
#4 login screen  see it ok
#5 i dont know what its called but ill call it "main desktop"  see it ok

if i plug in original monitor that has a wierd square resolution i see screen #3 no problem

i want to set this screen with gnewsense logo and boot progress bar permenently to a value that is the most generic resolution and refresh rate ,,,,one that any monitor i plug into it can display this screen

i have 6 gnewsence computers that have the same problem
if i install gnewsence with the monitor that will be used with computer no problem i see all the screens
but if i plug in a lesser monitor screen #3     "cannot display video mode"

i have ben looking for a fix for this for 2 years i can change res and refesh on every screen except this screen #3
by the way what is the real name of the described screens ?

what file do i edit to fix this ?
or set somethig to run that looks at and tests monitor for resolution and refresh and sets all resolutions  in all screens to one that can be displayed by currently pluged in monitor  ?

or add somthing like 1280*1024*75 in kernel line or somthin like this
