I have used this method in the past with no ill-effects. It has worked for me in Debian, Ubuntu, and gNewSense before. However, this time it's giving me a continuous output of error messages. I have attached a portion of dmesg as a file. This section of dmesg just keeps repeating over, and over again. I'm really at a loss, but would like to get this working as quickly as possible. The OpenFWWF site claims that that their goal is to provide an open source firmware for Broadcom/AirForce chipset based devices, but their site goes on to say that to make the firmware work properly you need at least 2 more files that must be extracted from original Broadcom drivers: b0g0bsinitvals5.fw and b0g0initvals5.fw.
This makes me wonder if it truly is free software. May I suggest replacing your WiFi card with one that is better supported by free software?
