Hi,

This post was supposed to be a question about if AMR is a proprietary
audio format, but I found it out myself, but I post it anyway so I have
the issue raised.

I would use my cell phone (which only creates AMR voice memo sound
files) to record voice memos to use with gps traces (openstreetmap
mapping). I found previously no reference about any discussion about the
AMR proprietary format.

This might make me contact my phone manufacturer to show that I don't
like that they record in a proprietary format. At least so they will
know, because if none tells them they won't know.
