Right, this has nothing to do with the problem of binary
firmware/non-free software in Linux/Ubuntu.  However, once Launchpad is
free, gNewSense will be able to use it if we choose, which will make
sharing bug fixes a bit easier.

That would be great but it would not "help Ubuntu become a more full member of the free software community". How would it do that?
